Happy Anniversary to Brian Casey, with whom a supportive and grateful industry celebrates his achievement-filled two years leading the High Point Market Authority!
Arriving in High Point with an important mission, he hit the ground running with street-tested intelligence and confidence.
Quickly, he regrouped, strengthened and repurposed a staff of professionals, whom he credits for the Market Authority’s successes.
Under Brian’s authentic guidance, a small talented, hardworking and energetic staff has won over critics — including me — in congealing and extending the power and influence of the world’s premier home furnishings Market.
Brian’s effective, yet unassuming and disarming style constitutes the enduring strength and attraction of High Point Market supported by and in close proximity to a highly regarded creative class of industry executives, designers, studios, marketers and leading service providers of all types.
Even so, he and his staff deserve more credit than they have received for their achievements, especially in the trade and general news media.
The Market Authority has done more than put lipstick and rouge on a mature mercantile lady, as some current myopic detractors improperly observe.
In every area, the Market has demonstrated improvement: buyer support, international attraction, speedier transportation, close in entertainment and more.
Still, more work needs to be done, and is underway, Brian will quickly acknowledge and discuss with passion.

While the Market Authority works on smoothing the diminishing rougher edges of the Market, Brian and his staff are building on strength.
As captain of the High Point Market ship, Brian is transporting an immense luxury liner whose world-class showrooms-state rooms are filled with the greatest abundance and selection of home furnishings designs and styles anywhere.
Happy Second Anniversary to Brian, in command of a mighty more flexible and responsible ship which literally and figuratively has got the goods over all others sailing in the safe harbor of High Point, North Carolina, second to none.

Ivan, I agree with you about Brian's efforts and think that the leadership is critical for the future success of High Point. however, the comparison to a luxury liner is questionable to me. While that may be the vision, it is not the reality. After the recent market, I spoke with design professionals and showroom owners who cater to the very high-end market and they had NEVER been to HP nor saw the relevance to them. That is the problem! We need to get those trade people on board the cruise ship and in time, HP could become more relevant to the whole industry!
