Success caused some happy disappointment. Mostly multiline Western-based sales representatives could be at risk because they are unable be in three to four showrooms simultaneously to serve all their accounts.
The frutrating situation has meant some reps have received ultimatums: Choose us or them, some factories are asking and telling.
At a busy Las Vegas Market this week, many multiline reps were unable to satisfy the flood of retailers in disparate showrooms around the market. The influx of retailers pushed many showrooms to their limits, especially on opening day Monday.
The delicious dilemma caused some indigestion among happy but stressed manufacturers which indicated their displelasure to multibag reps. The factories are inclined to realign their sales teams, a fearful reality that is spreading across the reps' gravevine.
Also, the heavy buyer traffic on opening day may convince some smaller retailers to arrive start their Market on Tuesday, ceding opening day to larger merchants who received obvious priority attention in many showrooms.
