The
avuncular Drezner brothers, Selig (left in top photograph-click to enlarge) and
Lee, produce stunning, mid-priced contemporary upholstery available at Market
in a nondescript “hole in the wall” showroom at 207 West High Street, just a few steps
south of Natuzzi’s ship of state showroom.
The contours
of the hot and haute designs belie the Drezner Brothers’ ages, which they
maintain is secret yet “really up there.”
“So
what. We’re young at heart, and having fun,” says voluble Selig with brother
Lee moved to High Point from Chicago in 1971, as designers and purveyors
of components for furniture manufacturing. Over the years, as the industry
changed, and their creative juices flowed, the brothers Drezner elevated their
ambition with new challenges.
DL&S
goods are in stores all over the country, but mostly in the East of theMississippi River. Through a network of old time sales
representatives and the people who discover their designs, the Drezner’s keep
plugging along as delightful chums who know what happens when they quit
working.
Selig
and Lee admit they are delightful discoveries for retailers walking along West
High Street, paralleling the railroad tracks, to and from the MarketSquare.
Their showroom’s dumpy exterior is sparse inside, except for the efflorescence
of their upholstery that brightens the undecorated interior.
DL&S
is one of the discoverable delights of the Furniture Market.
